A RESOLUT'J:ON PROHIBIT/N~ RT~HT TURNS ON RED
FROM THE SHARED RIGHT TURN/THROUgH MOVEMENT
LANE FROM PRTMA VTSTA BOULEVARD TO SOUTHBOUND
U.5. I IN ST. LUCRE (:aUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of 51. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. Section 316.008(1)(Z), Florida Statutes, authorizes the Board to regulate or
prohibit the turning of vehicles.
2. The Board adopted Ordinance No. 03-16 on May 6, 2003, creating Section 1-20-
6 (Turning Prohibition) of Article I, Chapter 1-20 (Traffic) of the Code of Ordinances of 51.
Lucie County, which simplified the procedures for regulating or prohibiting the turning of
motor vehicles.
3. Due to the increase in traffic, the Road & Bridge Division of the Public Works
Department, in conjunction with the 5tote of Florida Department of Transportation, has
recommended that right turns on red on the shared right turn-through movement lane from
Prima Vista Boulevard onto 5outhbound U.5.1 be prohibited.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of 51.
Lucie County:
1. Right turns on red by vehicles traveling east on Prima Vista Boulevard onto
5outhbound U.5.1 are prohibited in the shared right turn-through movement lane.
2. The 51. Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager is hereby directed to work with
the Florida Deportment of Transportation to accomplish these changes and post appropriate
signage.
3. Resolution No. 03-249 is deemed null and void.
4. This Resolution shall take effect on December 1, 2003.
5. The County Administrator is hereby directed to provide copies of this
resolution to the Sheriff of St. bucie County and the St. bucie County Road and Bridge
Manager.
