A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 98-49 AS AMENDED, TO APPROVE THE
TERRORISM CONSEQUENCE
MANAGEMENT PLAN (TERRORISM ANNEX
PLAN) AND UPDATE Tm~ ST. LUCIE
COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT PLAN (CEMP)
ACCORDINGLY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Disaster Preparedness Act, establishes a Division of
Emergency Management (DIVISION) and prescribes the powers and responsibilities thereof.
2. Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, assigl~s to the Board of County Commissioners
responsibility for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
3. Further, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, requires each county to develop a County
Emergency Management Plan and Program that are coordinated and consistent with the State
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and Program.
4. On March 10, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution No. 98-49
which adopted the 1997 St. Lucie County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP)
for St. Lucie County, Florida.
5. On June 13, 2000, the Board of County Commissioners approved updates to the
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
6. On September 12, 2000, the Board of County Commissioners adopted ResolutionNo. 00-
181 which officially adopted the previous Board action of June 13, 2000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby amend Resolution No. 98-49 as amended, to approve the
Terrorism Consequence Management Plan and update the St. Lucie County Comprehensive
Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) accordingly.
2. The St. Lucie County Public Safety Director is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
resolution to Mr. Joseph F. Myers, Director of Emergency Management, State of Florida,
Department of Community Affairs, 2555 Shumard Oak Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2100.
