A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSION
CHAIR TO EXECUTE AND FILE A JOINT PARTICIPATION
AGREEMENT WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, DISTRICT 4, IN THE TOTAL PROJECT AMOUNT
OF $244,800 TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO OPERATE AND MARKET
NEW FIXED-ROUTE AND DEVIATED FIXED-ROUTE SERVICES IN
ST. LUCIE COUNTY BY THE COUNCIL ON AGING,
INC./COMMUNITY TRANSIT.
WHEREAS, the Florida Departmem of Transportation, District 4, and
the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, desire to
participate jointly to provide funding to operate and market new fixed-route and
deviated fixed-route services in St. Lucie County by the Council on Aging of St.
Lucie, Inc./Community Transit, and
WHEREAS, the marketing plan for transit services will educate
residems, businesses and visitors of the available transit services in the County,
and
WHEREAS, public transportation is vital to the quality of life and
economic well-being of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
That the Chair of the St. Lucie County Board of Coumy
Commissioners is hereby authorized to execute and file a Joint
Participation Agreement with the Florida Department of
Transportation, District 4, in the total project amount of Two
Hundred Twenty-four Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars
($224,800).
Effective Date: This Resolution shall become effective upon its
adoption.
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows:
