A RESOLUTION ALLOW]:N~ THE FLOR]:DA
TNDI'AN HOBBY1'ST ASSOC'rATION, A NOT FOR
PROFIT CORPORATION, THE USE OF THE
SAVANNAS RECREATION AREA FOR AN ANNUAL
POW-WOW
WHEREAS, the Florida ~Indian Hobbyist Association, a not for profit
organization, ("FIHA") has requested the use of o portion of real property owned by
St. Lucie County (the "County"), which real property is commonly known as the
Savannas Recreation Area; and
WHEREAS, said portion consists of the campsites and surrounding area a the
Savanna Recreation Area (the "Site"); and
WHEREAS, the Site is depicted on the diagram attached hereto and made a
part hereof as Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38, Florida Statutes requires that any not for profit
organization wishing to use any real or personal property that may be owned by any
county of this state or by its board of county commissioners, for public or
community interest and welfare, may apply to the board of county commissioners for
a conveyance or lease of such property; and
WHEREAS, Section 125.38 further states that if it is determined by the
Board of County Commissioners that such property is required for such use and is
not needed for County purposes, the Board can allow the use of such property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida (the "Board"):
1. The Board does hereby grant permission to use the Site, to FZHA for
the operation of an annual pow-wow.

2. The term of this use shall be for a five (5) year period, unless otherwise
terminated and may be renewed for two (2) additional terms of five (§) years each,
all in accordance with a Use Agreement to be entered into by the County and FZHA.
3. The permission hereby granted to FIHA is contingent upon the signing
by the County and FZHA of a mutually acceptable Lease Agreement.
