LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. The Florida State Council of Vietnam Veterans of America has proclaimed September 20, 2003, as the official POW/MIA Recognition Day as a day of remembrance for those who suffered as prisoners of war or are still missing as a result of the Vietnam War. 2. At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20,2003, the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 566, St. Lucie County, will be having the Thirteenth Annual POW/MIA Recognition Candlelight Service at Veterans' Memorial Park on Midport Road in Port St. Lucie, Florida. 3. It is fitting that paws and MIAs from all wars will be appropriately remembered at this Candlelight Service. 4. This Board believes all Americans should recognize the special debt we owe our fellow citizens who, in the act of serving our Nation, relinquished their freedom so that we may enjoy the blessings of peace and liberty. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners ofSt. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board does hereby proclaim September 20, 2003, as "POWIMIARECOGNITION DAY" in St. Lucie County, Florida. 2. This Board urges the citizens of St. Lucie County to attend the Thirteenth Annual POW/MIA Recognition Candlelight Service on September 20,2003, at 7:30 p.m. at the Veterans' Memorial Park on Midport Road in Port St. Lucie, Florida, to pay tribute to the POW /MIAs ofthe Vietnam War and all prior wars.
