A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER
23, 2004, AS "BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY
APPRECIATION DAY" IN ST. LUCIE
COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. Florida industry provides a strong economic base for local
economies which, in turn, allows for improved service and quality
of life for our citizens.
2. It has been shown that at least eighty percent of new jobs
are created by expansions of existing industries.
3. Industries tend to remain with communities where their
contributions, both civic and economic, are recognized.
4. An existing industry appreciation program will highlight
Florida Industries and increase public awareness of their many
community contributions; and the local industries supporting the
St. Lucie County economy deserve the County's appreciation and
support.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim September 23, 2004 as
"BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY APPRECIATION DAY" in St. Lucie County,
Florida.
2. This Board wishes the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce
much success at the Annual Business Appreciation Awards Dinner to
be held on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Club Med.
