HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-277RESOLUT'J:ON NO. 04-277 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucia County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Due to Hurricane Frances, the old courthouse building suffered water damage and cannot be used for office space for the Clerk of the Circuit Court; and, 2. The County is in the process of designing and permitting a new office building for the Clerk of Circuit Court adjacent to toe new courthouse but this building will not be constructed until at least ,Tanuary, 2006; and, 3. In order to provide the Clerk with office space on a temporary basis, the County has entered into a lease on September 17, 2004 with DeSantis Commercial, Inc. to lease 10,071 square feet at the Orange Blossom Business Center in the City of Fort Pierce; and, 4. Section 8.07, Florida Statutes (2003) provides that the Board may designate a branch office where instruments presented for recording in the Official Records may be accepted and filed. NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucia County, Florida: 1. Pursuant to Section 28.07, Florida Statutes (2003), the Clerk's temporary office at the Orange Blossom Business Center, 4300 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, is designated as a branch office where instruments presented for recording in the Official Records of St. Lucia County may be accepted and filed. 2. This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption and shall automatically terminate when the Clerk vacates the temporary offices at the Orange Blossom Business Center.
