RESOLUTION NO. 04-305
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY
PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR TO EXTEND THE DECLARED
LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR HURRICANE FRANCES
AND HURRICANE JEANNE AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has made the following determinations:
1. The Board adopted Resolution No. 00-277 authorizing the County Administrator
and the Public Safety Director to exercise certain emergency powers and authority during a
local emergency.
2. On September I, 2004, at 4:00 p.m., the County's Public Safety Director
declared a state of local emergency due to Hurricane Frances; and,
3. On September 24, 2004, at 7:00 a.m., the County's Public Safety Director
declared a state of local emergency due to Hurricane Jeanne; and,
4. The effects of Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne placed St. Lucie County
in a state of emergency, exposing the citizens thereof to danger to life and property
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida, as follows:
1. The County's Public Safety Director is hereby authorized to extend the state
of local emergency declared due to Hurricane Frances and Hurricane Jeanne.
After motion and second the vote on this resolution was as follows:
