RESOLUTION NO. 04-342
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BACKCOUNTRY CAMPING
FEES AT BLUEFIELD RANCH NA TURAL AREA AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. On April 23, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners submitted a grant application
to Florida's Communities Trust to purchase Bluefield Ranch located in western St. Lucie
County.
2. In April of 2000, Florida Communities Trust approved the Management Plan for the
site which included the establishment of fifteen (15) Backcountry camping sites and one (1)
Backcountry group camping site. Florida Communities Trust also required that all fees
generated from the site were to be deposited in a separate account to fund management
costs.
3. In order to operate the camping sites, it is necessary to establish fees for the
fifteen (15) individual Backcountry camping sites and the one (1) Backcountry group camping
site.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby establish Backcountry Camping Fees at Bluefield Ranch
Natural Area as follows:
a. Single Camp Sites (fifteen total)
Regular Fee: $5.00 per night/per site
b. Group Camp Site (one total)
Regular Fee: $10.00 per night
2. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Board of
County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida.
