RESOLUTION NO.
05-048
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY
19, 2005, THROUGH FEBRUARY 26, 2005,
AS "FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA (FFA)
WEEK" IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. FFA and Agricultural Education provide a strong foundation
for the youth of America and the future of the food, fiber and
natural resource systems.
2. The FFA promotes premier leadership, personal growth and
career success among its members with the Local Chapter being Ft.
pierce Westwood FFA.
3. Agricultural Education and the FFA ensure a steady supply
of young professionals to meet the growing demands in the science,
business and technology of agriculture.
4. The FFA motto - "Learning to do, Doing to learn, Earning
to live, Living to serve" - gives direction of purpose to these
students who take an active role in succeeding in agricultural
education.
5 FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism and
cooperation, among our youth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim February 19, 2005, through
February 26, 2005, as "FFA WEEK" in St. Lucie County, Florida.
2. This Board urges the citizens of St. Lucie County to
support the Local FFA Chapter during FFA Week and throughout the
year.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 15th day of February, 2005.
