RESOLUTION NO. 05-244
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST.
LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE COMMISSION CHAIR TO
EXECUTE AND FILE A JOINT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH THE
FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DISTRICT 4, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $224,000 TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO OPERATE AND MARKET
NEW FIXED-ROUTE AND DEVIATED FIXED-ROUTE SERVICES IN ST.
LUCIE COUNTY BY COUNCIL ON AGING, INC./COMMUNITY TRANSIT.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, and the Board
of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, desire to participate jointly to
provide funding to operate and market new fixed-route and deviated fixed-route services
in St. Lucie County by Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc.lCommunity Transit.
WHEREAS, the marketing and operation of transit services will benefit
residents, businesses and visitors of the available transit services in the County.
WHEREAS, public transportation is vital to the quality of life and economic
well-being of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. That the Chair of the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida
Department of Transportation, District 4, in the amount of Two Hundred Twenty-four
Thousand Dollars ($224,000).
2. Effective Date: This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
