A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION FOR
STEPHAN DOUGLAS SHIPE FOR ATTAINING
THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. Stephan Douglas Shipe joined the Boys Scouts of America
in 2000 and in 5 years, completed all ranks of scouting. An
achievement made by less than 2% of all Boy Scouts.
2. Stephan served actively in Troop 405 in Fort Pierce,
Florida and has held several positions of responsibility during his
rank advancement including: Senior Patrol Leader, Quartermaster,
Chaplain Aide, and Den Chief.
3. In order to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, an individual
must
earn at
least
21 merit badges by exhibiting duty,
demonstrating leadership, and accomplishing merit and service
projects. Stephan earned a total of 36 badges including: Aviation,
Camping, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation,
Citizenship in the World.
Communications, Computers, Dentistry,
Electricity, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, Family
Life,
Farm Mechanics,
Fingerprinting,
First Aide,
Fishing,
Genealogy, Golf, Medicine, Personal Fitness, Personal Management,
Pioneering, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Space Exploration,
Swimming, Cooking, American Cultures, American Heritage, Coin
Collecting, Veterinary Medicine, Art, Orienteering,
Theater,
Cinematography and Wilderness Survival.

4. Stephan's Eagle Service Project required him to plan,
develop, and complete a proj ect which was helpful to a worthy
institution and brought value to our local community.
Stephan
chose to modify and hang Wood Duck boxes as well as to clean and
clear the Otter trail at the Oxbo-Eco Center.
5. Stephan achieved Bobcat Rank in 2000, Webelos Rank in
2001, Scout Rank in 2003, Tenderfoot Rank in 2003, Second Class
Rank in 2003, First Class Rank in 2003, Star Rank in 2004, Life
Rank ln 2004 and became an Eagle Scout by passing the Board of
Review on July 21, 2005.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County:
1. This Board does hereby commend Stephan Douglas Shipe for
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.
2. This Board extends their congratulations to Stephan
Douglas Shipe for his accomplishments and his achievement of
becoming an Eagle Scout.
