RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 445
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD
OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE PROPOSED
LAKEWOOD PARK 2 MUNICIPAL SERVICES BENEFIT
UNIT; DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE
ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY;
PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commjssioners of St. Lucje County, Florida
(the "Board") is contemplatjng the creatjon of the Lakewood Park 2 Municipal Services
Benefit Unjt (the "MSBU") to fund the cost of a project to provjde potable water
jmprovements to properties within the boundarjes of the proposed Lakewood Park 2
MSBU (the "Project") jn St. Lucie County; and
WHEREAS, the Board, as the governjng body of the MSBU, jntends to use the
unjform method for collecting non-ad valorem special assessments to fund the cost of
the Project as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes because thjs method
will allow the specjal assessments to be collected annually commencjng jn November
2006, jn the same manner as provjded for ad valorem taxes; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the Board held a duly advertjsed public
hearing to consjder the adoptjon of thjs resolution, proof of publjcatjon of thjs hearjng is
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibjt "A".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commjssjoners
of St. Lucje County, Florida, as follows:
Section 1: Commencing with the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year and wjth the tax
statement mailed for the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year, the Board jntends to use the unjform
method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments authorjzed jn Section 197.3632,
Florjda Statutes for collecting non-ad valorem assessments levjed by the proposed
Lakewood Park 2 MSBU to fund the cost of a project to provide potable water
jmprovements to properties wjthjn the boundaries of the proposed Lakewood Park 2
MSBU. A descrjptjon of the boundarjes of the real property withjn the proposed MSBU
and subject to the levy js attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhjbjt "B".
Section 2: The Board hereby determines that the levy of the assessments are
necessary to fund the cost of the Project.
Section 3: Upon adopt jon, the County Attorney js hereby directed to send a
copy of thjs resolutjon by Unjted States mail to the Florida Department of Revenue, and
the St. Lucje County Property Apprajser and Tax Collector.
Section 4. This Resolutjon shall be effectjve upon adoption.
