LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE PROPOSED KINGS/INDRIO MUNICIPAL SERVICES BENEFIT UNIT; DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY; PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissjoners of St. Lucje County, Florida (the "Board") js contemplatjng the creatjon of the Kjngs/lndrio Munjcjpal Services Benefit Unit (the "MSBU") to fund the cost of a project to construct road widening jmprovements to the area within the boundaries of the proposed Kjngs/lndrjo MSBU (the "Project") in St. Lucje County; and WHEREAS, the Board, as the governjng body of the MSBU, intends to use the uniform method for collectjng non-ad valorem special assessments to fund the cost of the Project as authorjzed by Sectjon 197.3632, Florjda Statutes because thjs method wjll allow the special assessments to be collected annually commencing in November 2006, jn the same manner as provided for ad valorem taxes; and WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the Board held a duly advertjsed public hearjng to consjder the adoptjon of thjs resolutjon, proof of publjcatjon of thjs hearing js attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibjt "A". 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissjoners of St. Lucie County, Florjda, as follows: Section 1: Commencing wjth the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year and with the tax statement majled for the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year, the Board jntends to use the unjform method of collectjng non-ad valorem assessments authorized jn Sectjon 197.3632, Florida Statutes for collecting non-ad valorem assessments levied by the proposed Kjngsllndrio MSBU to fund the cost of a project to construct road widenjng jmprovements to the area within the boundaries of the proposed Kjngs/lndrio MSBU. A descrjptjon of the boundaries of the real property wjthjn the proposed MSBU and subject to the levy is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B". Section 2: The Board hereby determines that the levy of the assessments are necessary to fund the cost of the Project. Section 3: Upon adopt jon, the County Attorney js hereby directed to send a copy of thjs resolutjon by Unjted States majl to the Florida Department of Revenue, and the St. Lucje County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector. Section 4.
