LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE HARMONY HEIGHTS MUNICIPAL SERVICES BENEFIT UNIT; DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY; PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, the Board of County Commjssioners of St. Lucie County, Florjda (the "Board") has created the Harmony Heights Municipal Servjces Benefit Unit (the "MSBU") to fund the cost of a project to construct potable water improvements to propertjes wjthjn the boundaries of the Harmony Heights MSBU (the "Project") jn St. Lucie County; and WHEREAS, the Board, as the governjng body of the MSBU, jntends to use the uniform method for collectjng non-ad valorem special assessments to fund the cost of the Project as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florjda Statutes because thjs method wjll allow the specjal assessments to be collected annually commencjng in November 2006, jn the same manner as provided for ad valorem taxes; and WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the Board held a duly advertised publjc hearjng to consider the adoptjon of this resolutjon, proof of publication of thjs hearjng js attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A". 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commjssjoners of St. Lucie County, Florjda, as follows: Section 1: Commencing with the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year and wjth the tax statement mailed for the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year, the Board intends to use the unjform method of collectjng non-ad valorem assessments authorized in Sectjon 197.3632, Florjda Statutes for collecting non-ad valorem assessments levjed by the Harmony Hejghts MSBU to fund the cost of a project to construct potable water improvements to propertjes wjthin the boundaries of the Harmony Hejghts MSBU. A descrjption of the boundaries of the real property wjthjn the MSBU and subject to the levy is attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "B". Section 2: The Board hereby determjnes that the levy of the assessments are necessary to fund the cost of the Project. Section 3: Upon adopt jon, the County Attorney js hereby directed to send a copy of thjs resolutjon by Unjted States majl to the Florida Department of Revenue, and the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector. Section 4.
