RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 440
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD
OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE PROPOSED
GARRISON LANE MUNICIPAL SERVICES BENEFIT
UNIT; DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE
ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY;
PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commjssioners of St. Lucie County, Florjda
(the "Board") is contemplatjng the creation of the Garrjson Lane Municjpal Services
Benefjt Unjt (the "MSBU") to fund the cost of a project to construct paving and drajnage
jmprovements to propertjes wjthjn the boundaries of the proposed Garrjson Lane MSBU
(the "Project") in St. Lucje County; and
WHEREAS, the Board, as the governing body of the MSBU, intends to use the
unjform method for collectjng non-ad valorem special assessments to fund the cost of
the Project as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florjda Statutes because thjs method
will allow the special assessments to be collected annually commencing jn November
2006, jn the same manner as provjded for ad valorem taxes; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the Board held a duly advertjsed publjc
hearing to consjder the adoptjon of this resolution, proof of publjcatjon of thjs hearjng js
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhjbjt "A".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of St. Lucje County, Florida, as follows:
Section 1: Commencing wjth the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year and with the tax
statement majled for the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year, the Board jntends to use the unjform
method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments authorjzed jn Section 197.3632,
Florjda Statutes for collectjng non-ad valorem assessments levjed by the proposed
Garrison Lane MSBU to fund the cost of a project to construct pavjng and drajnage
improvements to propertjes wjthjn the boundaries of the proposed Garrjson Lane
MSBU. A descrjption of the boundarjes of the real property wjthin the proposed MSBU
and subject to the levy js attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhjbjt "B",
Section 2: The Board hereby determines that the levy of the assessments are
necessary to fund the cost of the Project.
Section 3: Upon adoption, the County Attorney js hereby djrected to send a
copy of this resolution by Unjted States majl to the Florjda Department of Revenue, and
the St. Lucie County Property Apprajser and Tax Collector.
Section 4. This Resolutjon shall be effectjve upon adoption.
