RESOLUTION NO. 05-446
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
STATING ITS INTENT TO USE THE UNIFORM METHOD
OF COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS LEVIED BY THE PROPOSED
LAKEWOOD PARK 3 MUNICIPAL SERVICES BENEFIT
UNIT; DESCRIBING THE AREA SUBJECT TO THE
ASSESSMENT; STATING A NEED FOR THE LEVY;
PROVIDING FOR MAILING THE RESOLUTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commjssjoners of St. Lucje County, Florida
(the "Board") is contemplatjng the creatjon of the Lakewood Park 3 Munjcjpal Services
Benefjt Unjt (the "MSBU") to fund the cost of a project to provide flood protectjon
enhancement improvements to properties wjthin the boundarjes of the proposed
Lakewood Park 3 MSBU (the "Project") in St. Lucje County; and
WHEREAS, the Board, as the governjng body of the MSBU, intends to use the
uniform method for collectjng non-ad valorem specjal assessments to fund the cost of
the Project as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes because thjs method
wjll allow the specjal assessments to be collected annually commencing in November
2006, in the same manner as provjded for ad valorem taxes; and
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2005, the Board held a duly advertjsed publjc
hearjng to consider the adoptjon of this resolution, proof of publjcatjon of thjs hearing js
attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibjt "A".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commjssjoners
of St. Lucie County, Florjda, as follows:
Section 1: Commencjng with the 2006-2007 Fiscal Year and with the tax
statement mailed for the 2006-2007 Fjscal Year, the Board jntends to use the unjform
method of collectjng non-ad valorem assessments authorized in Sectjon 197.3632,
Florjda Statutes for collectjng non-ad valorem assessments levied by the proposed
Lakewood Park 3 MSBU to fund the cost of a project to flood enhancement protectjon
jmprovements to propertjes wjthjn the boundarjes of the proposed Lakewood Park 3
MSBU. A descrjptjon of the boundarjes of the real property wjthjn the proposed MSBU
and subject to the levy js attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhjbjt "B".
Section 2: The Board hereby determjnes that the levy of the assessments are
necessary to fund the cost of the Project.
Section 3: Upon adoption, the County Attorney is hereby directed to send a
copy of thjs resolution by Unjted States majl to the Florida Department of Revenue, and
the St. Lucje County Property Apprajser and Tax Collector.
Section 4. This Resolution shall be effectjve upon adoptjon.
