HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-483 RESOLUTION NO. 05-483 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY EXTENDING THE STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY (HURRICANE WILMA) WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has made the following determinations: 1. The Board has adopted Resolution No. 00-277 authorizing the County Administrator and the Public Safety Director to exercise certain emergency powers and authority during a local emergency. 2. The County's Public Safety Director declared a state of emergency on October 22, 2005, at 6:00 a.m. due to Hurricane Wilma. 3. The effect of Hurricane Wilma has placed St. Lucie County in a state of emergency, exposing the citizens thereof to danger to life and property. 4. In order to respond to such emergency, upon this extension, the County Administrator or his designee is authorized to initiate and take such actions authorized by Resolution 00-277 for and on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners during the term of such local state of emergency. 5. Such declaration is extended for seven (7) days until December 22, 2005 at 6:00 a.m. unless sooner rescinded by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County or the County Administrator. 6. This Extension of the Declaration of Emergency shall become effective December 15, 2005 at 6:00 a.m. After motion and second the vote on this resolution was as follows: Chairman Doug Coward Vice Chairman Chris Craft Commissioner Paula A.
