RESOLUTION NO. 06-176
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A FEE
SCHEDULE OF THREE DOLLARS ($3.00)
PER VEHICLE TO RECOVER COSTS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE AFTER HOUR USE
OF THE DOWNTOWN PARKING GARAGE
LOCATED AT 210 N. 2ND STREET WHEN
REQUESTED BY THE SUNRISE THEATRE FOR
SCHEDULED EVENTS AND SHOWS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. The revitalization of the downtown area of Ft. pierce has
attracted many different venues, in particular the reopening of the
Sunrise Theatre.
At the request of the Sunrise Theatre, the
parking garage is used for scheduled events and shows. To man the
downtown-parking garage and fees associated with maintenance, the
approximate cost to St. Lucie County is Five Hundred Eighty-Five
Dollars ($585.00)
2. To recoup the Five Hundred Eighty-Five ($585.00), the
County should impose a per vehicle fee based on the number of
parking spaces available in the garage (195).
The cost would be
Three Dollars ($3.00) per space.
This flat fee would cover
manpower needed for security and general housekeeping of the
garage.
3. In order to be consistent with policy, it is necessary
for the Board to approve the Three Dollar ($3.00) per vehicle fee
by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida.
1. This Board does hereby establish a fee schedule of Three
Dollars ($3.00) per vehicle, to recover costs associated with the
after hour use of the downtown parking garage located at 210 N. 2nd
Street, when requested by the Sunrise Theatre for scheduled events
and shows.
2. The County Administrator is hereby directed to forward a
copy of this resolution to Mr. David Jenkins, Executive Director,
Sunrise Theatre.
After motion and second the vote on this resolution was as
follows:
