HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-180 RESOLUTION NO. 06-180 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNìY, EXTENDING A STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY COUNìY FLORIDA, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. The Board has adopted Resolution No. 00-277 authorizing the County Administrator and the Public Safety Director to exercise emergency powers and authority during a local emergency. 2. The County Administrator declared a state of emergency on May 3, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. due to drought conditions. 3. The drought has placed St. Lucie County in a state of emergency, exposing the citizens thereof to danger to life and property. 4. In order to respond to such disaster, the County Administrator or his designee is hereby authorized to initiate and take such actions authorized by Section 252.38, F.S. for and on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners during the term of such local state of emergency. 5. Such declaration is extended for seven (7) days until May 31, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. unless sooner rescinded by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County or the County Administrator. 6. This Extension of the Declaration of Emergency shall become effective May 24,2006 at 8:00 a.m. After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows: Chairman Doug Coward Vice Chair Chris Craft Commissioner Joseph E.
