A RESOLUTION GRANTING REZONING
FROM THE AR-1 (AGRICULTURAL,
RESIDENTIAL -1) ZONING DISTRICT TO RF
(RELIGIOUS FACILITIES) ZONING
DISTRICTOF CERTAIN PROPERTY IN ST.
LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, based
on the testimony and evidence, including but not limited to the staff report, has made
the following determinations:
1. Grace Baptist Church presented a petition for a change in zoning from the AR-
1 (Agricultural, Residential - 1du/acre) Zoning District to the RF (Religious
Facilities) Zoning District for the property depicted on the attached maps as
"Exhibit A" and described below.
2. On July 20, 2006, the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission held
a public hearing on the petition, after publishing a notice of such hearing in a
local daily newspaper of general circulation and notifying by mail all property
owners within 500 feet of the subject property, and has recommended that the
Board of County Commissioners approve a change in zoning from the AR-1
(Agricultural, Residential - 1du/acre) Zoning District to the RF (Religious
Facilities) Zoning District.
3. On August 15, 2006, the 51. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners
held a public hearing on the petition, after publishing a notice of such hearing in
a local daily newspaper of general circulation and notifying by mail all property
owners within 500 feet of the subject property, and approved the requested
change in zoning for the property described in Part A below;
4. The proposed project is consistent with the general purpose, goals, objectives
and standards of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code, the St. Lucie
County Comprehensive Plan, and the Code of Ordinances of St. Lucie County.
5. The proposed change in zoning has satisfied the requirements of Section
11.06.03 of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code and is
consistent with the goals, objectives, and policies of the St. Lucie
County Comprehensive Plan.
6. The proposed change in zoning is consistent with the existing and
proposed use of property in the surrounding area.
