HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-231 1 RESOLUTION No. 06-231 2 File Number: RZ 06-034 3 4 A RESOLUTION GRANTING REZONING FROM 5 THE RS-4 (RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY - 6 4DU/ACRE) ZONING DISTRICT TO THE HIRD 7 (HUTCHINSON ISLAND RESIDENTIAL 8 DISTRICT) ZONING DISTRICT OF CERTAIN 9 PROPERTY IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA. 10 11 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, based on the 12 testimony and evidence, including but not limited to the staff report, has made the following 13 determinations: 14 15 1. The Board of County Commissioners presented a petition for a change in zoning from 16 the RS-4 (Residential Single Family - 4du/acre) Zoning District to the HIRD (Hutchinson 17 Island Residential District) Zoning District for the property depicted on the attached 18 maps as "Exhibit A" and described below. 19 20 2. On August 17, 2006 the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission held a 21 public hearing on the petition, after publishing a notice of such hearing in a local daily 22 newspaper of general circulation and notifying by mail all property owners within 500 23 feet of the subject property, and has recommended that the Board of County 24 Commissioners deny a change in zoning from the RS-4 (Residential Single Family - 25 4du/acre) Zoning District to the HIRD (Hutchinson Island Residential Zoning District) 26 Zoning District. 27 28 3. On September 19, 2006 the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners held a 29 public hearing on the petition, after publishing a notice of such hearing in a local daily 30 newspaper of general circulation and notifying by mail all property owners within 500 31 feet of the subject property, and approved the requested change in zoning for the 32 property described in Part A below. That hearing was continued to the October 17, 33 2006, Board of County Commissioners meeting. On October 17, 2006, the public 34 hearing was held. 35 36 4. The proposed change in zoning is consistent with the general purpose, goals, 37 objectives and standards of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code, the St. 38 Lucie County Comprehensive Plan, and the Code of Ordinances of St. Lucie County. 39 40 5. The proposed change in zoning has satisfied the requirements of Section 11.06.03 of 41 the St. Lucie County Land Development Code and is consistent with the goals, 42 objectives, and policies of the St. Lucie County Comprehensive Plan. 43 44 6. The proposed change in zoning is consistent with the existing and proposed use 45 of property in the surrounding area. 46 47 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie 48 County, Florida: 49 50 A The proposed Change in Zoning District Classification from the RS-4 51 (Residential (Residential Single Family - 4du/acre) Zoning District to the HIRD Page 1 October 17. 2006 EDWIN M. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA; CONTAINING 0.47 ACRES MORE OR LESS. Location: West side of North State Road A1A and adjacent to the south property line of Ocean Harbor Villas Condominiums. Owned by Carroll Collins is hereby approved. B. The St. Lucie County Growth Management Director is hereby authorized to cause the change to be made on the Official Zoning Map of St. Lucie County, Florida, and to make notation of reference to the date of adoption of this resolution.
