RESOLUTION NO. 07-103
A RESOLUTION HONORING MR. INUKA
KHALID RHAHEED WHO HAS BEEN CHOSEN
FOR HIS POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE
TREASURE COAST, AND REPRESENTING ST.
LUCIE COUNTY AS A YOUNG AFRICAN-
AMERICAN "MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR
COMMUNITY"
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. Mr. Inuka Khalid Rhaheed is a native of St. Lucie County
and a graduate of Lincoln Park Academy where he excelled in music
and athletics. He won a scholarship to Grambling State University
where he continued to excel in music and athletics.
2. Mr. Rhaheed returned to St. Lucie County where he joined
the Fort pierce Police Department and served as a patrol officer
and homicide detective for ten years.
3. He then, with his wife Jackie Fuller Rhaheed, started
several successful businesses including I. K. Shaft Rhaheed Bail
Bonds and First Premium Financial Services.
4. Mr. Rhaheed is involved in several community activities
which include Miracle Prayer Temple,
The Buffalo Soldiers
Motorcycle Club where he is Vice-President, a life member of Prince
Hall Masonic Organization, a life member of NAACP, and an active
parent with the Boys and Girls Club.
5. Mr. Inuka Khalid Rhaheed was instrumental in bringing a
number of African-American motorcycle clubs to our area which
provided business to our area and gave a positive view of St. Lucie
County as well as the rest of the Treasure Coast. His contribution
was reported in the local news media.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, that this Board does
hereby Honor Mr. Inuka Khalid Rhaheed who has been chosen for his
positive impact on the Treasure Coast, and representing St. Lucie
County as a young African-American "MAKING A DIFFERE::>lCE IN OUR
COMMUNITY".
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 27th day of March, 2007.
