RESOLUTION NO. 07-308
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE
MONTH OF OCTOBER, 2007 , AS
"BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH"
IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. Pink Tie Friends, Inc., formerly known as the Friends
of the Breast Care Center of the Treasure Coast, is a not-for-
profit public charity formed by a dynamic, vibrant group of
cancer patients, survivors and loyal supporters that have
joined together to make a difference.
2. The mission of the Pink Tie Friends lS to provide
financial support to individuals newly diagnosed with breast
cancer that are uninsured or under insured.
3. The vision of the pink Tie Friends is that the
strength of their organization will continue to grow to
enhance lives and replace the anguish of individuals who fear
they will not be able to afford treatment for breast cancer
with comfort and hope.
4. October of each year lS recognized as National Breast
Cancer Awareness Month in the United States of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby proclaim the month of October,
2007, as uBREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH" in St. Lucie County,
Florida.
2. This Board congratulates and commends the women of
pink Tie Friends, Inc. for their continuing good works In
service to those members of our community in need of their
generous support.
PASSED AND DULY ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 2007.
