LUCIE COUNTY YOUTH BASEBALL TRAVEL TEAMS GUIDELINES AS APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. There is a need to establish guidelines for all St. Lucie County Youth Baseball Travel Teams that utilize facilities and athletic fields owned, operated, and maintained by St. Lucie County through its' Parks and Recreation Department. 2. This Board believes it is in the best interest of the health, safety, and public welfare of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida, to better serve current Youth Baseball Travel Teams and ensure safety of our children, by establishing criteria allowing an opportunity for Youth Baseball Travel Teams to become recognized providers, and to eliminate duplication of items that are addressed in the Facility Use Agreement. 3. In order to provide the necessary rules and regulations for the St. Lucie County Youth Baseball Travel Teams, it is necessary to adopt the attached St. Lucie County Youth Baseball Travel Teams Guidelines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. This Board does hereby adopt the St. Lucie County Youth Baseball Travel Teams Guidelines attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit ~A". 2. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption as approved by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida. After motion and second the vote on this resolution was as follows: Chairman Chris Craft Vice-Chairman Joseph E. Smith Commissioner Paula A. LUCIE COUNTY YOUTH BASEBALL TRAVEL TEAMS GUIDELINES The St. Lucie County Youth Baseball Travel Teams must meet the following guidelines as approved by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County: 1. Must meet Youth Sports "Provider" Policy 90/10 rule in order for ball fields to be used for practices at no charge. 2. Fields will be provided contingent on availability. 3. Teams must pay for lights if used during practices. 4. Traveling Youth Baseball teams will be charged at Board of County Commissioners approved rates and fees for games and tournaments. 5. No modification of fields will be done by County staff (temporary mounds may be used and placed by the teams/leagues. 6. Coaches and Assistant Coaches must be National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) certified. 7. Background checks of all Coaches and Assistant Coaches through Southeastern Security Consultants, Inc. (SSCI) are required. 8. Must provide proof of County required coverage as outlined in the Youth Sports Policy. insurance "Provider" 9. Must comply with all county policies and procedures.
