RESOLUTION NO. 07-340
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DISTRICT 4, PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION JOINT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT TO
PROVIDE FUNDING TO OPERATE AND MARKET NEW FIXED-
ROUTE AND DEVIATED FIXED-ROUTE TRANSIT SERVICES
IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY; AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRPERSON
TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; AND FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE THE
AGREEMENT BY APPROVING IT AS TO FORM AND
CORRECTNESS.
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, and the Board
of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, desire to participate jointly to
provide funding to operate and market new fixed-route and deviated fixed-route services
in by Council on Aging of St. Lucie, Inc./Community Transit.
WHEREAS, the marketing and operation of transit services will benefit
residents, businesses and visitors of the available transit services in the County.
WHEREAS, public transportation is vital to the quality of life and economic
well-being of the citizens ofSt. Lucie County, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. The Board hereby accepts and approves the Joint Participation Agreement
with the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4, in the amount of Two Hundred
Twenty-four Thousand Eight Hundred and 001100 Dollars ($224,800.00) to operate and
market new fixed-route and deviated fixed-route transit services in St. Lucie County.
2. The Board hereby authorizes the Chairman to execute the above-
referenced agreement and further authorizes the County Attorney to execute the
agreement by approving it as to form and correctness.
3. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
