RESOLUTION NO. 08-023
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 1997 ST.
LUCIE COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLAN (CEMP)
FOR ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has
made the following determinations:
1. Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Disaster Preparedness Act, establishes a
Division of Emergency Management (DIVISION) and prescribes the powers and
responsibilities thereof.
2. Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, assigns to the Board of County
Commissioners responsibility for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and
recovery.
3. Further, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, requires each county to develop
a County Emergency Management Plan and Program that are coordinated and
consistent with the State Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board ratifies and adopts the 1997 St. Lucie County Comprehensive
Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) for St. Lucie County, Florida, as amended to
include updates to the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan approved by this
Board on October 25, 2007.
2. The St. Lucie County Public Safety Director is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Mr. W. Craig Fugate, Director of Emergency Management,
State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management, 2555 Shumard Oak Boulevard,
Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2100.
