Cð c&15 fY\t6 FIn. ~ì(f RESOLUTION NO. 08-046 A RESOLUTION REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON PRIMA VISTA BOULEVARD FROM FORTY (40) MILES PER HOUR TO THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILES PER HOUR BEGINNING AT THE INTERSECTION OF RIO MAR COURT, EAST TO THE INTERSECTION OF US 1 IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following determinations: 1. Section 316.008(1), Florida Statutes, authorizes the Board to designate speed limits for streets and highways under its jurisdiction. 2. Section 1-20-1, of Chapter 1-20 of the St. Lucie County Code of Compiled Laws authorizes the Board to adopt speed limits by resolution in conjunction with the design, re-design or undertaking of an investigation to determine that such regulation is reasonable and for the benefit of the public health, safety, or general welfare of the citizens of St. Lucie County, Florida. 3. The Public Works Department of St. Lucie County has redesigned a portion of Prima Vista Boulevard and has recommended that a reduced speed limit be designated on Prima Vista Boulevard from forty (40) miles per hour to thirty-five (35) miles per hour from the intersection of Rio Mar Court, East to the intersection of US 1. The Sheriff's Department has concurred with the recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida: 1. The County Administrator is hereby directed to provide copies of this resolution to the Sheriff of St. Lucie County, the St. Lucie County Road and Bridge Manager, the St. Lucie County Engineer, and the St. Lucie County Public Works Director. 3. The St. Lucie County Public Works Director is hereby authorized to have the necessary signage installed at the appropriate locations on Prima Vista Boulevard from forty (40) miles per hour to thirty-five (35) miles per hour in St. Lucie County, Florida.
