A RESOLUTION DEVELOPING A POLICY
THAT WOULD LIMIT NIGHT MEETINGS AT
BOTH THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AND
THE ADMINISTRATION ANNEX LOCATED AT
2300 VIRGINIA AVENUE, FT. PIERCE,
FLORIDA TO TWO NIGHTS A WEEK BEING
TUESDAY AND THURSDAY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. At the present time night meetings have been scheduled at
both the Administration Building and the Administration Annex
whenever necessary.
2. In an effort to reduce high utility costs, additional
maintenance costs, housekeeping, and security costs,
it is
imperative for St. Lucie County to look into ways of saving money.
3. On March 12, 2008, at the 2008 Strategic Planning
Session, it was recommended that night meetings be limited to two
nights a week being Tuesdays and Thursdays.
4. It was also recommended that any additional nights for
meetings, outside the limited Tuesdays and Thursdays at the
Administration Complex, should be requested in advance to the
County Administrator or his designee, who shall have the authority
to make an exception to this policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby adopt a policy that limits night
meetings at the Administration Complex to Tuesdays and Thursdays
only.
2. The County Administrator, or his designee may, at his
discretion, make an exception to this policy when a request is
presented in advance.
After motion and second the vote on this resolution was as
