RESOLUTION NO. 08-317
A RESOLUTION HONORING NEW HORIZONS OF THE
TREASURE COAST, INC. ON THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY
IN ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. New Horizons of the Treasure Coast is celebrating their
50th Anniversary, and is the community mental health center
providing serVlce to the residents of St. Lucie, Okeechobee,
Martin, and Indian River Counties.
2. Founded in 1958, New Horizons has dedicated half a
century to meeting the ever changing needs of the community, and
has become the primary provider of behavioral health services for
adults and children in four counties.
3. New Horizons is currently one of the largest employers
along the Treasure Coast with over 300 employees serving a
population of more than 468,000.
4. Last year, New Horizons touched the lives of more than
9,000 men, women, and children through inpatient services,
outpatient services, counseling and referrals.
5. New Horizons continues to evolve and meet new challenges
and is in the early stages of "4 Our Kids", which is a four county
capital campaign to build a desperately needed children's crisis
center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby honor New Horizons of the Treasure
Coast, Inc. on their 50th Anniversary in St. Lucie, Okeechobee,
Martin, and Indian River Counties.
2. This Board wishes New Horizons of the Treasure Coast,
Inc. much success in their future endeavors.
