The Board of County Commissioners is empowered to establish, alter, and 13 amend the schedule of fees, charges, and expenses for building permits. 14 15 2. On January 24, 1989, the Board approved Resolution 89-22 amending the 16 existing schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits. 17 18 3. On July 15, 1994, the Board approved Resolution 94-128 amending the 19 existing schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits. ~p 1 4. On September22,1998, the Board approved Resolution 98-154 amending the 22 existing schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits. 23 2 4 5. On May 4,1999, the Board approved Resolution 99-020 amending the existing 2 5 schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits. 26 2 ~ 6. On May 15, 2001, the Board approved Resolution 01-018 amending existing 2 8 schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits. 29 3 0 7. At the time Resolution 01-018, was approved, Paragraph Five, of Part A of this 31 resolution incorrectly identified the 2nd re-inspection feeas being $25 instead of 32 the previously approved (Resolution 99-020) fee of $50. 33 3 4 8. As a function of County operations, the all building plan review, processing, and 3 5 inspection functions are to be self-supporting. 36 37 9. The best interests of the citizens of St. Lucie County would be served by the 3 8 enactment of a revised schedule of fees and charges for building permits. The existing schedule of fees, charges and other expenses for building permits 5 adopted through Resolution 89-22, and later amended through Resolutions 01-018, 6 99-020, 94-128 and 98-154, is hereby amended as follows: 7 8 1. New construction 2 projects may include the normal trade permits in one encompassing permit fee according 3 to the following schedule: 4 5 Valuation Fee 6 7 $100.00 and less No fee, unless inspection required, in which case $50.00 for 8 each inspection shall be charged. 9 10 $101.00 to $2,500.00 Fee of $75.00 11 12 $2,501.00 to $ 25,000.00 $ 150 base fee, plus .75% of the value of construction 13 14 $ 25,001.00 to $100,000.00 $ 250 base fee, plus .65% of the value of construction 15 16 $100,001.00 to $250,000.00 $ 750 base fee, plus .55% of the value of construction 17 18 $250,001.00 to $500,000.00 $ 1,500 base fee, plus .45% of the value of construction 19 2 0 $500,001.00 and up $ 2,800 base fee, plus .35% of the value of construction 21 2 2 Moving of building or structures: 23 4 For the moving of any building or structure, the fee shall be $100.00. (Note: 5 additional fees to be assessed by County Engineers Office for moving of structures 2 6 along County Roads) 27 2 8 Demolition of building or structures: 29 3 0 For the demolition of any building or structure, the fee shall be $75.00. 31 3 2 Mobile Homes, Park Models and Recreational Vehicles: 33 3 4 For the installation of a single wide mobile home unit or a park model, the fee shall 3 5 be $200.00. 36 3 7 For each additional manufactured module the fee shall be an additional $75.00. 38 3 9 For the installation of recreational vehicles the fee shall be $125.00. 40 41 Note: The above fees include the set up, water and sewer hook-up, electrical, gas and HVAC 42 permits when done by qualified contractors. 43 44 Where work for which a permit is required is started prior to obtaining said permit, 4 5 the fees herein specified shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee shall Underline is for addition SErilce-~+ireegFi is for deletion Res. Plan examination fees shall be according to the following schedule: 5 6 TYPE OF BUILDING FEE 7 8 Apartment Houses (five or more units) $ 250.00 9 Dwellings (per unit up to four) $ 50.00 10 Non-Residential Buildings $ 150.00 11 12 4. Miscellaneous trade and construction permits including, but not limited to plumbing, 13 mechanical, electrical, gas, remodeling, additions, fences, pools, sheds, signs, docks, etc., 14 not otherwise addressed in Tables A, B, or C above shall be on a valuation basis according 15 to the following schedule: 16 17 $100.00 and less No fee unless inspection is required, in which case $50.00 18 for each inspection shall be charged 19 2 0 $101.00 to $2,500 Fee of $75.00 21 22 $2,501 plus $150.00 for the first $2,500 plus 1% of the amount in 2 3 excess of $2,500.00 ?4 5 5. Re-inspection fee. 26 2 7 In the inspection of any building for which a permit has been issued, if it is determined that 2 8 the work does not meet code, a re-inspection fee shall be charged. Re-inspection charges shall not be cumulative to other inspections 39 required as part of the building permit process. 40 41 42 6. Automated Building Permit Fee: 43 44 All building permits, zoning compliance certificates or other permits issued or authorized by 45 the Department of Community Development shall be subject to a two dollar ($2) Underline is for addition 6#ike-~engH is for deletion Res. No.: 01-132 PrintDate: 08/14/01 Draft #1 Page 7 -a 1 administrative chargeforthe purpose of providing funding forfuture updates, improvement 2 and if necessary, replacement of the County's Automated Building Permit Software and 3 Related Computer Programs and Information Management System. All funds collected shall 4 be deposited into a separate trust account and may only be used for the purposes outlined 5 in this paragraph and may not be used to fund or support any other computer software or 6 hardware acquisitions that are not related to the review, processing or issuance of building 7 permits, zoning compliance certificates or similarly issued permits or authorization. 8 9 B.
