times peaceably and quietly to ent°r upon, hold, occupy and
en~oy said land; that said land is free from all incumbrances;
that said Mortga~or, its successors and legal representatives,
will make such further assurances to perfect the fee simple
title to ~aid land in said Mortgagee, her heirs, legal repre-
sentatives and assigns, as may reasonab3e be required; and that
said riortgagor, doth hereby fully warrant the title to said land
and will defend the same against the lawful claims of all per-
sons who~soever.
PROVIDED ALWAYS, that if said ;~ortga~or, its successors, legal
representatives or assi~ns ~hall pay unto the said Nortgagee,
her legal representatives or assigns, the certain promissory
note, of which t:ie following in words and figures is a true copy,
to-Wit:

Corporation, promises to pay without defalcation, to the order
of DO~OTHY K. McMILLAN, formerly ?OROTHY K. SCHt?ENITH, at the
offices of Wardlow, Knox, Caudle and ~v'ade, Attorneys, Charlotte,
North Carolina, or other place desig,nated in writing by her, the ~
~ sum of Thirt~-Four Thousand Eighty Dollars (;~34,080.00), with
interest at the rate oP si~c percent (69~),payable aemi-annually
at the time the principal payments are maae as hereinafter pro-
vided. ~
; The principal sum of this promissory note is payable as
follows:
