In the sale of the property, the original second mortgage, With
an unsigned copy of the secured note, was sent to us here in North
Carolina by George Saleesby, Realtor of Fort Pieres. We ~o not recall
9ver having seen the original note.
:ae have never endorsed or assigned or sold or transferred
said note, or any interest in it, to any person, finn or corporation;
nor have xe mortgaged or pledged it to any such for col2ateral or other
purposes; nor have We authorized anyone to do so for us;
And ~e acknoxledoe ourselves held and firmlq bound unto the
said Robert E. Woods and his assign or assignees in the sum of $850.00,
to the payment of Which We bind ourselves and our representives and
heirs Kell and truly; on this condition:
If said note shall turn up in the hands of any other person
~ and shall be properly endorseci by the payee therein (~hether one or
4 both of us) and shall be established in proper, legal proceedings to

~ have t~een duly and legally assigned or transferred to someone Who

~ establishes legal o~rnership thereof and is entitled to collect thereon~
