and laws of the State of Florida, do hereby order as follows:
1. The Honorable Richard 8. Gerstein, State Attorney,
Eleventh Judicial'Circuit of Florida, and any one or more of
his duly qualified Assistant State Attorneys, which Assistants
to be designated by him, is hereby assigned to discharge the
duties of the Honorable John T. Brennan, State Attorney,.
Nineteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, as said duties relate
to the investigation and prosecutfon of an~ and all matters
pertaininq to or arisinq out of the hamicide of James Cardon.
2. The said Richard E..Gerstein and/or his qualified .
and designated Assistant State Attorneys shall proceed to the ~
Nineteenth Judicial C~,~cuit and represent the State of Florida
i
in the investigation o~'the aforesaid hoiaicide and, if necessary,
bring appropriate charqes and prosecute same in the manner
. ~
provided by law. -
3. Durinq the period of such assiqnment, the said Ric~:ard L.
Gerstein and his duly qualified and desiqnated Assistant State
Attorneys shall be vested with all and singular the pawers and
prerogatives of State Attorneys and/or their duly qualified
Assistant State Attorneys,_as the case may be, by virtue of

this executive order, the Constitution and laws of the State

~ o~ Florida.

~ 4. All public officials and citizens of the Nineteenth
9 Judicial Circuit are hereby requested to cooperate with the
~
~ - _
said Richard E. Gerstein and his assistants, and suCh public
officials shall render whatever assistance is necessary to the
end that justice may be served.
