HomeMy WebLinkAbout1678 . , 2~'7819 ~ ~ • STATE Olr FLORIDA SOARD OF 1ltUSTSBS OF THB INTSRNAL IIitPROVBI~tENT TRUST FUNU No. 72-2 ' RSSOLUT ION WHTsRSAS, the State of Florida, by virtue of its sovereiqnty, is the owner of the beds of all naviqable waters, salt and fresh, lyinq within its territory, with certain minor exceptions, and is also the owner of certain other lands derived from various sources; and WHSRSAS, tit2e to these sovereignty and certain other lands has been vested by the Florida Legislature in the State of Florida 8oard of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, to be held, protected and managed for the long-range benefit of the peopl~ of Florida; and WHERBAS, the State of Florida Board of Trustees of the ~ Internal Improvement Trust Fund, as a part of its overall manaqement program for Florida's state-owned lands, does desire to insure the perpetual protection, preservation and public enjoyment of certain specific areas of exceptional guality and value by settinq aside forever these certain areas as aquatic preserves or sanctuaries; and WHEREAS, the ad hoc_Florida Inter-Aqency Advisory Committee on Submerqed Land Manaqement has selected through careful study and deliberation a number of specific areas of state-owned land havinq exceptional biological, aesthetic and scientific value,~and has recommended to the State of Florida Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund that these selected areas be officially recognized and established as the initial elements of a statewide system of aquatic preserves for Florida; NOW, TIiEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the State of Florida Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund; THAT the state-owned lands within the following described boundaries be hereby recognized for their exceptional public value and dedicated in perpetuity as an aquatic preserve and ~.s an element of a statewide system of aquatic preserves: 1?P~'RCV: t; : ~ t t~ : r . . . • t TRUS1ct., 1. 1. ~NUIlf ~Uhd = kk1~ .
