petition for adoption filed herein by James C. Garris, and upon the consent
for adoption filed herein by the natural mother, Essie Mae Garris; and it
appearing to the Court that jurisdiction was obtained-upon the natural father,

Raymond R. Steele and it-further appearing to the Court that the petitioner is ~
a fit and proper person to adopt the minor child sought to be adopted and that ~
the best interests of the child will be promoted by the adoption and that the
chi.ld is suitable for adoption by petitioner, James C. Garris, aad being other-

ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that the minor child known as Maurice 4

(NMN) Steele is declared to be the legal child of the petitioner, James C. Garris,
and is given the name of Maurice Garris, by which name he shall hereafter be
known; it is further ~
OR,DERED AND ADJUDGED that this child shall be the child and
legal heir of the petitioner, James C. Garris, entitled to all the rights and
privileges, and subject to all the obligations of a child born to the petitioner,
James C. Garris, in lawful wedlock with his now wife and natural mother of
the child, Essie Mae Garris.
