BFFSCTIVB: January 1 1975 Aay person cited vith the commission af a traffic infractior may. vhere no hearinA is required or heard and the offender admits the iafraction by postinA then forfeitint~ a cash bond or pavinR the penalty to the traffic violations bureau in the county in which the infraction Was-comaitted b9 cash,• sone9 order or cashier'a check in the amount set forth in the total colimoz~ of the attached schedule for~the reapective~infraction or elect to attend a - driver improvement school. - Any person cited for the commission of a traffic infraction who is not a ~ resident of or domiciled in the countv where the infraction took place or the . State of Florida may request an affidavit of defense form fram the appropriate ~ ~ county traffic violation bureau for the purpose of filing a sworn vritten atatement in defense of the citation provided the offender post a cash _ ~ ~ appearance bond, money order or certified check in the violatione bureau in the caunty in which the infraction vas committed which shall accom~panv - request for affidavit of defense form in the amount set forth in the bond ~ ~ colvam of the attached schedule. ~ , ~ A person Who co~nits a traffic infraction in his hame county requiring ; a mandatory hearing must appear for hearing as scheduled. _ ~ _ Any person who is required to appear or any person electinR to appear in ~ court shall be determined to have waived his/her right to the civil penalty ' , provisions of Section 318.18, F.S. and upon determination an infraction has . been committed the court ma9 i~pose a civil penaltv not to exceed $500 plus - $10 court costs or require attendance at a driver im~rovement school or both.
