PROCEDURE: Uebridement of the open fracture~and
cZosure of ta'~e other wounds.
aPE'2ATIVE '~'ECH;IIQUE: Uncier general anesthesia, the area
around the fracture was shaved and
repped with IIetadine. ~h~ wound was thoroughly irrigated and ;
=~he edges o€ the wound debrided as required. mhe fracture s~as ;
thzn reduced however, there was considerable comminution at the
transverse fracture site and wa9 very uns-tabZe. T:ne woound was ~
~eft open and tae 7.ong-leg cast aop2ie3. '

The laceration on the riqht leq was :
then cleansed an~ suti:rec3. ~ne wound `
in the left knee was cleaned and sutured loosely pmr to appli-
cation of cast. '
^here ~as also a s~ll 3aceration
of the rig:~t wrist which was clean~d -
a~zcl sutsred. The pati:~t was ret.trned to 'the reom in good condition.
