New x-rays reveal that the tibia has slipped somewhat; however, it is still • only about 1/2 inch short and is j~n excellent alignment so I think it will ~ heal satisfactorily. He still has some growing~to do so he sllould make up part•of the shorteninq. His back is improving. ~AP and lateral of the back show no change in position. He is instcucted to gradually increase the _ amount of weight bearinq on his leg wit_ZOUt his c~rutches . Whe~~ he can walk without pain, he may do so. If the cast gets la~se or bothers him, he is . to let me know.. .Otherwise, I will see him in a~:onth. 3/6/75/mc Ll/jag - - The cast is in qood qreat shape.- It is only a month since last charge at which-time he was loose. He states that the . back bothers.him very little. The cast was removed. ~The tibia is still quite soringy so a~ new lonq ~leg casr was applied. X-rays v~re taken of the back in- ~ cludi,ng flexion_and extension views. I could see no change in position of the ~ subluxed vertebra but he certainly doesn't extend. Ne is instructed in some extension exercises that he can ~rk on lying on his belly and pulLinq the i shoulders up. I w~ill see him in a month. I . : - - - j +4/21/7 S/stalker/j ag ~ The cast is renwved.. New x-rays show good union. The fractsre is now stable ~ ~ : to testing without pain but he is about an inch short. He is to start ambula- ~ tion with partial weight bearing with crutches and is to go to PT for mobiliza- ~ tion.:. ~ ! • ~5/27/75'stalker/jag This boy's leg looks good. He h.~s re~ained good strength and motion. He is short. Hopefully he will gain s~me. I have fitted hi.m with a lift to go in the shoe with 1/2 inch heel lift ~ He states that his back isn't bothering him. He can lift most anything he wants to. New film taken of the back today shows what appears to be a little ~ increase in the angulation. This will bear watching. He is to come back in about a week to pick up his shoe lift. I want to see him in a couple of months ~ or sooner if he should have any increasing back pain. ~ - ' 6/14/75/ :wll/jag : ~ Patient is in for his build-up. He is initially fitted.
