do by these presents hereby make, constitute and appoint
James Miller Field
my true and law~il attorney in fact for me and in my name, place
and stead to receive into his possession and to take sub3ect to
him control an.y and all of my property, a.nd all property in which
I may have any interest or to which I may have a rightful claim,
including all property, real or peraonal, automobiles, stocks, bonds,
securities, moneys, bank accounts and life insurance policies, to
transfer or convey any or all of eaid property, real or personal, as
security for a loan, or to sell or exchange the same upon such
terms and conditions as he will consider fitting, and to sign,
seal, ac~mowledge and deliver any deeds or transfers in writing
in connection therewith, to rent and execute any leases for.the
rental of real estate, to take any action necessary and proper
for the care and preservation of my property, to register all
automobiles or other property belonging to me and to secure all
licenaes and permita required for the same~under the provisions
of a.ny law or ordinance whatsoever, to receive, endorse and collect
checks payable to my order and to receive payment of any and all
debts or accounta which are or may become payable to~me, and to
give ~11 discharge Yor eame, to initiate or to carry on-any lit-
. igation, suita or actions in a~y court in which I ma.y have an int-
ere~t as party plaintiff, defendant, or otherwise, a.nd to execute
any affidavits, pleadings, or other papers incident thereto, a.nd
generally to act for me in all other ways which he shall consi.der
necessary to the safe and proper~conduct of my personal a~fairs.
Granting and giving unto my said attorney in fact full auth-
ority and power to do and perform an,y and all other acta necessary
or incident to the~performance and execution of the powers herein
expressly granted, with power to do and perYorm all acts autho-
rized hereby, as fully to all intents and purposes as I might or
_ could ~o if personally present, with full power of substitution.
