A Joint anci Survivor annuity, with the survivor ~
~ annuiry not less than 508 nor qreater than
1U4~ ~f the amount of the annuity payable to
~ the Par t ic ipant dur inq the joint 1 ives of
the Participant and his spouse, ~+ill be
provided those Participant and wh~ have been
married fo~ the one-year period en~ing on
the annuity starting ~ate. The amount of
the joint and survivor annuity sha11 be that
amount purchasable with the value of the
life retirement annuity of the normal annuity
form accrued and vested as of the~annuity
starting date. Such join-t and survivor
annuity shall apply unless the Participant -
and/or his beneficiary elects otherwise
within the 60 day period prior to his an-
nuity starting date on a form Frovided by
the Pensi~n Committee describinq in plain,
non-techni-cal language the terr~s and condi-
' tions of all forms of annuity available
unc~er the Plan. If either a Participant _
~ with thc ve~tec~ pension benefit or a former ~
- Partici~»nt who had terminated employment
with a vested pension benefit that had bee~
~ deEerre~ to ~arly or Normal Retirement Date
shoul.~ die before the commencement of such
benefit, the survivorship portion of the
joint and survivor annuity will bec~me auto-
matic unless the designated beneEiciary
should make an election in writing to the
Fension Committee for any optional form of
~ benefit permitted by this Plan an:~ Trust.
Such electi~n must be :nade within 6U day~ of
such Participant's death.
(1} "EffeCtive Date": and "Anniversary Date": The
efEective 3ate and anniversary date shall be the
date specified bY the employer in Item 5 in the
Adoetion Agreement.
. ~(m) "Trust Account": Contributions hereto shall be
made on an actuarially sound basis and the mor-
tality and interest assumptions shall be the same
as those employed in the actuarial statement
filed with the Internal Revenue Secvice and De- ~
partment of Labor. The Trust Account shall con- t
~ sist of contributions to the trust together with ~
- the earnings a~d increments thereon, less .
