Dear Mr. Rosenberg: RE: Tract No. 715-18
Reference is mazer to ?e*tPr of May 16, 1979, to several attempted

telephone calls from negotiators of this office and to my teiep:o~..:
conversation with you on September 17, 1979.
Please be advised that we have a Congressional mandate to acquire the
land for the Big Cypress National Preserve by a certain date. To ac-
complish timely acquisition, we must not have what appears to be
unreasonable slippages in our direct purchase acquisition process.
b7e note that the last positive action in this matter is that mentioned
in your letter of May 16, 1979.
This is to advise you that if the certified copy of the court-approved
_ sale, based on the necessary signed petition and the necessary signed
consent, is not received by us by October 31, 1979, we must reluctantly
recommend acquisition of this tract by eminent domain proceedings, with
all its attendant costs if the heirs and the Personal Representative
should choose to defend against the suit.
It may be that you will wish to send a copy of this letter to all those
involved to impress upon them how serious this matter can be.
