this Will. In the event my wife should predecease me, or is unabl
or unwilling to serve, then and in either event, I appoint my
brother-in-iaw LINCOLN D. BERNET to serve as personal representa-
tive. I direct that no bond will be required of the personal
representative under this Will.
VII.
Powers of the Personal Representative: The personal
representative named in the Will and her successors and the partie
serving in her stead shall have all the powers and protection
granted unto Trustees by statute at the time of application, in
addition to and not in limitation of any common law or statutory
authority, and without application to any court, they shall have
the powers and responsibilities described below, to be exercised
in their absolute discretion.
A. with regard to both real and personal property for
' the purpose of obtaining rands Yor the payment of taxes, claims
and costs of administration, payment of gifts, and making distribu
tions, management of property and for every other proper purpose,
they may acquire, retain, invest, re-invest, exchange, lease,sell,
~ mortgage, pledge, transfer and convey in such manner and in such
terms as they may deem advisable, even for the terms beyond the
expected administration of the estate, and no purchaser or lender
shall be liable to see to the property of the transaction or the
application of the proceeds.
B. to pay expenses that are reasonable in the judgment
of thepersonal representative, for the delivery of gifts.
VIII.
Residue: All the rest, residue and remainder of my
estate, of whatever kind and wherever situated, including all -
lapsed, renounced and void gifts, but excluding any property over
which I may have a power of appointment, I give to my wife,
FLORENCE H. CORDON. In the event my wife should predecease me, the
I give all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to my
neice, BETH-ANN BERNET of East H ord, Connecticut.
