to hold cash or readily marketable securities of little or no
yield for such period as my fiduciary deems advisable;
7. To borrow in the name of my estate or of .the trust,
upon whatever terms and conditions and for whatever periods my
fiduciary deems advisable, for. the purpose of preserving, protect-_
ing or~improving property held_.by it;
8. To pay, compromise, adjust, settle, compound, renew or
abandon claims held by my fiduciary and claims asserted against my
fiduciary, on whatever terms it deems advisable, without prior
court authority;
9., To distribute in cash or in kind, or partly ,in cash
and partly in-kind, in divided or undivided interests, notwith-
standing the fact that distributive shares may as a result be
_composed differently;
10. To employ attorneys, accountants, investment advisors
and other professional assistance, including depositaries, proxies,
agents and appraisers;
11. To insure the property it holds as fiduciary against
the risks, and in the amounts it, in its discretion, finds ex-
pedient, and to obtain and pay for life, health,.liability and .
other forms of insurance for the beneficiaries of the trust, in
its discretion;
12. To enter into transactions with other fiduciaries,
including personal representatives or trustees of estates and
trusts in~which my beneficiaries have an interest, .and including
itself as fiduciary for other estates and trusts;
13. As indicated above, the powers granted herein are not
intended to be exclusive, but are in addition to those granted by
.
law; in elaborating the powers and duties of my fiduciaries, it is
e my intent to avoid controversies in the future between my loved
