RESOLUTION 01-228
A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSION DISTRICTS FOR ST. LUCIE
COUNTY BASED UPON THE DECENNIAL
CENSUS RESULTS (APRIL 2000) PURSUANT
TO SECTION I(E) ARTICLE VIII, OF THE
CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA
EREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
wing determinations:
Section l(e) Article VIII, of the Constitution of the State of Florida requires that after
each decennial census, the Board of County Commissioners of each County in the
State shall divide the County into districts of contiguous territory as nearly equal in
population as practicable.
Section 124.01(3), Florida Statutes, requires that any changes to the County
Commission District Boundaries be made only in odd-numbered years.
N, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
nty, Florida:
Pursuant to Section 124.02, Florida Statutes, the following descriptions depict the
revised County Commission District boundaries for St. Lucie County:
County Commission District #1
Begin at the intersection of the C-25 canal and North Kings Highway (SR 713), said
point being the point of beginning; thence north along the centerline of North Kings
Highway (SR 713) to the point of intersection with St. Lucie Boulevard (CR 608);
thence east along the centerline of St. Lucie Boulevard (CR/SR 608) to the point of
intersection with North US #1 (SR 5); thence southerly along the centerline of North US
#1 to the point of intersection with North A-l-A; thence east along the centerline of
North A-1-A to the point of intersection with the Intracoastal Waterway; thence south
along the centerline of the Intracoastal Waterway to a point of intersection of an
easterly extension of the centerline of Citrus Avenue; thence west along the easterly
extension of the Citrus Avenue centerline to a point of intersection with the FEC
Railroad Mainline; thence southerly along the centerline of the FEC Railroad Mainline
to the point of intersection with Savannah Road; thence west along the centedine of
Savannah Road to the point of intersection with South US #1; thence north along the
centerline of South US #1 to the point of intersection with Virginia Avenue (SR 70);
thence west along the centerline to Virginia Avenue (SR 70) to the point of intersection
with Sunrise Boulevard; thence south along the centerline of Sunrise Boulevard to the
point of intersection with Edwards Road; thence west along the centerline of Edwards
Road to the point of intersection with Selvitz Road; thence south along the centerline

County Commission District #2
Begin at the point of intersection of Port St. Lucie Boulevard and the Martin County
Line, said point being the point of beginning; thence run east along The St. Lucie/Martin
County Line to the point of intersection of Green River Parkway and the Martin County
Line; thence north along the centerline of Green River Parkway to the point of
intersection with Walton Road; thence east along the centerline of Walton Road to the
point of intersection with the FEC Railroad mainline; thence northerly along the
centerline of the FEC railroad mainline to the northern City Limit Line for the City of Port
St. Lucie; thence westerly along the City Limit lines to the North Fork Of The St. Lucie
River; thence southerly along the centerline of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River to
the point of intersection with Port St. Lucie Boulevard; thence westerly/southerly along
the centerline of Port St. Lucie Boulevard to the point of beginning.
County Commission District #3
Begin at the point of intersection of the C-24 canal and 1-95/SR 9. said point being
known as the point of beginning; thence north along the centerline of 1-95/SR 9 to the
point of intersection of a westerly extension of Juliet Avenue; thence east along the
centerline of Juliet Avenue to the point of intersection with the Florida Turnpike (SR 91);
thence north along the centerline of the Florida Turnpike (SR 91) to the point of
intersection with the Florida Power & Light/St. Lucie Power Plant Transmission Lines;
thence east along the centerline of Florida Power & Light/ St. Lucie Power Plant
Transmission Lines to the point of intersection with the North Fork of the St. Lucie
River; thence south along the centerline of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River to the
point of intersection with Port St. Lucie Boulevard; thence westerly along the centerline
of Port St. Lucie Boulevard to the point of intersection with the C-24 canal; thence
westerly along the centerline of the C-24 canal to the point of beginning.
County Commission District #4
Begin at the intersection of the C-25 canal and North Kings Highway (SR 713), said
point being the point of beginning; thence run west along the centerline of the C-25
canal to the point of intersection with the C-24 canal; thence south along the centerline
of the C-24 canal to the point of intersection with the C-23 canal; thence easterly along
the centerline of the C-24 canal to the point of intersection with 1-95/SR 9; thence north
along the centerline of 1-95/SR 9 to the point of intersection of a westerly extension of
Juliet Avenue; thence east along the centerline of Juliet Avenue to the point of
intersection with the Florida Turnpike (SR 91); thence north along the centerline of the
Florida Turnpike (SR 91) to the point of intersection with the Florida Power & Light/St.
Lucie Power Plant Transmission Lines; thence east along the centerline of Florida
Power & Light/St. Lucie Power Plant Transmission Lines to the point of intersection
with the North Fork of the St. Lucie River; thence south along the centerline of the

Begin at the NE corner of Section 3, Township 34S, Range 40E, said point being the
point of beginning; thence run west along the St. Lucie/Indian River County Line to the
point of intersection with the St. Lucie/Okeechobee/Indian River County lines; thence
run south along the St. Lucie/Okeechobee County Line to the point of intersection with
St. Lucie/Okeechobee/Martin County Line; thence run east along the St. Lucie/Martin
County Line to the point of intersection with Port St. Lucie Blvd and the Martin County
Line; thence run northerly along the centerline of Port St. Lucie Boulevard to the point
of intersection with the C-24 canal; thence westerly along the centerline of the C-24
canal to the point of intersection with the C-23 canal; thence north along the centerline
of the C-24 canal to the point of intersection with the C-25 canal; thence east along the
centerline of the C-25 canal to the point of intersection with North Kings Highway (SR
713); thence north along the centerline of North Kings Highway (SR 713) to the point of
intersection with St. Lucie Boulevard (CR 608); thence east along the centerline of St.
Lucie Boulevard (CR/SR 608) to the point of intersection with North US #1 (SR 5);
thence southerly along the centerline of North US #1 to the point of intersection with
North A-l-A; thence east along the centerline of North A-1-A to the point of intersection
with the Intracoastal Waterway; thence south along the centerline of the Intracoastal
Waterway to a point of intersection of an easterly extension of the centerline of Citrus
Avenue; thence west along the easterly extension of the Citrus Avenue centerline to a
point of intersection with the FEC Railroad Mainline; thence southerly along the
centerline of the FEC Railroad Mainline to the point of intersection with Walton Road;
thence west along the centerline of Walton Road to the point of intersection of with
Green River Parkway, thence south along the centerline of Green River Parkway to the
Martin County Line; thence east along the Martin County Line to the point of
intersection with the Atlantic Ocean; thence northerly along the Atlantic Ocean to the
point of beginning.
A map depicting the revised County Commission District boundaries for St. Lucie
County is attached is attached as Exhibit A to this Resolution.
Through the approval of this Resolution, the County Commission District boundaries
described in Resolution 97-183 are hereby repealed and replaced by those
descriptions outlined in Part A above.
The Clerk is hereby directed to forthwith furnish the Department of State a Certified
Copy of the minutes and this Resolution, reflecting the description of the boundaries of

the district, as changed, and shall record a description of such boundaries in its office
in a book kept for that purpose.
The County Attorney is hereby directed to publish a notice of the revised County
Commission District boundary changes pursuant to Section 124.02, Florida Statutes.
This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
