WHEREAS, the Hoard of County Comm~ssioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, has made the following determinations:
1. Article VIII, Section 1(f), Florida Constitution, and
;
! Section 125.01(1)(h), Florida Statutes, authorizes and empowers
~
i this Board to establish, coordinate, and enforce zoning
E
i •regulations as are necessary for the protection of the public.
; 2. In order to provide for enhanced buainess advertising by
~ increasing the amount of area to be used for wall signs, it is
~ necessary to amend Section 3.2.720 of the St. Lucie County Zoning
~
~ Ordinance.
~
` 3. On December 7, 1989, the St. Lucie County Local Planning
~
~ Agency and the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission
~ held a public hearing, due notice of which had been published at
least fifteen (15) days in advance, to consider a.mending the text
of the St. Lucie County Zoning Ordinance, as set out in this
ordinance. •
! 4. The St. Lucie County Local Planning Aqency and the St.
~
~
~ Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission have recommended that
~ the Board approve the proposed amendment.
