A RESOLUTION RENAMIN6 A 50 - 55' RIGHT-OF-WAY
CURRENTLY KNOWN AS GOLDSMITH ROAD TO CAROLE NOON LANE
LYING IN SECTIONS 24 AND 25, TOWNSHIP 35 SOUTH, RAN6E 38 EAST,
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Bonrd of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the
following determinations:
1. Section 336.05(1), Florida Stntutes, authorizes the BoQrd of County Commissioners to
name nnd rename streets nnd roads lying outside the boundaries of nny incorporated municipality.
2. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 87-8, Pnrt A, St. Lucie County Code of Ordinances Section
1-17-54, there shall be no duplication of street names in St. Lucie County.
3. Pursuant to St. Lucie County Land Development Code Section 7.05.08(C)(2), streets,
regardless of functiona) classificntion, which run parnllel to the north-south bnse line (Orange Avenue)
shall be cnlled nvenue, drive or some other designation beginning with n letter in the first hulf (A
through M) of the alphabet. Street, regardless of classificntion, which run pnrnllel to the east-west
base line (U. 5. Highway 1) shall be cnlled terrace, place, or some other designntion beginning with a
letter in the second half (N through Z) of the alphnbet.
4. The Property Acquisition Division received a request from Philip Flynn, III, Executive
Director of Save the Chimps, Inc. to rename Goldsmith Road to Carole Noon Lane. Goldsmith Rond
provides access to properties owned by Evans Properties, Inc., Hnle Family 1999 Limited Partnership,
Location Development Corp. nnd Save the Chimps, Inc. A II affected property owners hnve approved the

name Carole Noon Lune except Location Development Corp. Save the Chimps, Inc. contncted Mr. Dnvid
Gordon of Location Development Corp. who stated he is not in favor of a nnme change nt this time ns
he is trying to sell his property. Planning and Development Services, Public Snfety and the Property
Acquisition Division huve reviewed, verified nnd approved the street name Cnrole Noon Lnne.
5. Goldsmith Rond is a County owned nnd maintained right-of-wuy, lying in Sections 24 and
25, Township 35 South, Rnnge 38 East shall be renamed ns follows and more pnrticularly shown on
attached Exhibit "A":

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida:
A. Goldsmith Road is a County owned and maintained right-of-wny, lying in Sections 24 and
25, Township 35 South, Range 38 East shall be renamed as follows and more particularly shown on
nttached Exhibit "A":
GOLDSMITH ROAD to CAROLE NOON LANE
B. The Property Acquisition Division is hereby directed to notify the appropriate Uti lities,
the U.S. Postal Service, the Property Appraiser, the Supervisor of Elections, the St. Lucie County
Sheriff and record the Resolution in the Public Records of St. Lucie County.
