A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA
GRANTING FINAL APPROVAL TO THE RESTRUCTURING OF
COUNTY OPERATIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made
the following determinations:
1. On February 23, 2010, the Board of County Commissioners authorized a major
restructuring of County government to reduce the budget for personnel and operations. The
restructuring was implemented in phases and focused on:
A. Consolidation of County departments and divisions
B. Elimination and/or reclassification of director, assistant director and
manager positions
C. Pay reductions for directors and managers that were reclassified to lower
positions
D. Elimination or consolidation of programs and services
E. Revision and standardization of job descriptions
2. As a result of the restructuring, the number of County departments has been
reduced from eighteen (18) to nine (9), and the number of County divisions has been reduced
from forty-five (45) to twenty-seven (27) divisions. In addition, 45.3 positions were eliminated
and 41 positions were reclassified to lower pay grades.
3. The savings from the restructuring total $3,665,042.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St.
Lucie County, Florida:
1. This Board does hereby grant final approval to the restructuring of County
operations as set forth in the organizational chart attached hereto and incorporated herein as
Exhibit "A." ~
