A RESOLUTION DIRECTING AN ELECTION TO BE HELD TO
PROVIDE FOR THE PLACEMENT OF A PROPOSITION
CALLING FOR THE INCORPORATION AND TRANSFER OF
A PORTION OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY INTO MARTIN
COUNTY ON THE AUGUST 14, 2012 PRIMARY ELECTION
BALLOT
WHEREAS, the Board ofCounty Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, has made the following
determinations:
1. Chapter 2012- 45, Laws of Florida, requires that the Board of County Commissioners hold
a referendum to allow qualified electors residing in the area described in Section 1 ofChapter2012 45, laws
of Florida to determine whether to approve the incorporation and transfer of a portion of St. Lucie County
into Martin County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
Florida,
1. This Board does hereby direct the Supervisor of Elections to place on the August 14, 2012,
Primary Election Ballot the following proposition to be voted upon by the qualified electors of St. Lucie
County that reside in the area described in Section 1 of Chapter 2012-45:
TRANSFER OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES
FROM ST. LUCIE COUNTY TO MARTIN COUNTY
Shall the properties described in Section 1 of Chapter
2012-45, Laws of Florida, be incorporated and transferred
from St. Lucie County to Martin County?
Yes For the transfer to Martin County
No Against the transfer to Martin County
After motion and second, the vote on this resolution was as follows:
