4 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY,
5 FLORIDA AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING ATLAS FORA 27.55-ACRE PARCEL OF
6 LAND LOCATED ON SELVITZ ROAD AND OWNED BY ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FROM THE
7 AR-1 (AGRICULTURAL, RESIDENTIAL - 1 DU/ACRE) TO I (INSTITUTIONAL) ZONING
8 DISTRICT FOR A FUTURE TRANSIT FACILITY.

10 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County, Florida, based on
11 testimony and evidence, including, but not limited to the staff report, has made the following
12 determinations:

14 1. St. Lucie County has initiated amendments to the Official Zoning Atlas fora 27.44-acre
15 parcel of public property owned by the St. Lucie County from the AR-1 (Agricultural,
16 Residential - 1 du/acre) to I (Institutional) zoning district, for a future transit operations
17 and maintenance facility.

19 2. On October 18, 2012, the St. Lucie County Planning and Zoning Commission held a
20 public hearing on the petition, of which due notice was published in the St. Lucie News
21 Tribune and recommended that the Board of County Commissioners approve the
22 change in zoning

24 3. On December 4, 2012, the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie County,
25 Florida, held a public hearing of which due notice was published in the St. Lucie News
26 Tribune.

28 4. The proposed change in zoning satisfies the requirements of Section 11.06.03 of the
29 St. Lucie County Land Development Code and is consistent with the goals, objectives,
30 and policies of the St. Lucie County Comprehensive Plan.

32 5. The proposed change in zoning is consistent with the existing and proposed use of
33 property in the surrounding area.

35 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
36 County, Florida:

38 A. The proposed amendments to the Official Zoning Atlas fora 27.55-acre parcel of
39 public property owned by the St. Lucie County from the AR-1 (Agricultural, Residential
40 - 1 du/acre) to I (Institutional) zoning district for property depicted in Exhibit "A" is
41 approved.

43 B. The Planning and Development Services Director is hereby authorized and directed to
44 cause the change to be made on the Official Zoning Atlas of St. Lucie County, Florida,
45 and to make notation of reference to the date of adoption of this Resolution.

47 C. This Resolution shall be recorded in the Public Records.
